What is the maximum capacity and minimum stay?
Villa Selvamar is designed to host up to 6 guests, while Casa Alexandre can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests. Both houses require a minimum stay of 1 week to ensure you have enough time to truly disconnect and experience the island’s slow pace.
How do we get to Faial Island?
You can fly directly into Horta Airport (HOR). SATA Azores Airlines offers direct flights from Lisbon, as well as connections from other international airports. If you are already visiting other islands in the archipelago, you can also travel to Faial by ferry using the Atlanticoline boat service.
How far is the property from Horta, and should I rent a car?
Selvamar is located in Varadouro, just a 15-minute drive from Horta and the airport. A taxi ride costs approximately €20. While you can enjoy the immediate surroundings on foot, we highly recommend renting a car (via Ilha Verde, Rent-a-Car, or Avis at the airport) to fully explore the island with autonomy.
What is the best season to visit the Azores?
Spring, summer, and autumn are wonderful times to discover the Azores. The mild climate during these seasons is perfect for hiking, exploring the natural pools, and enjoying outdoor practices.
What languages are spoken on-site?
We are happy to welcome and support our guests in both English and French.
What local activities do you recommend?
Faial is a nature lover’s paradise. We highly recommend whale watching (with Azores Experiences), exploring the island on a Tuk Tuk tour (with Blue Tuk), canyoning, or enjoying local wine tasting at Adega do Vulcão. You can also rent bikes to ride along the scenic coastal roads. For more comprehensive guides, the Discover Faial platform is a great resource.
